Right at the beginning of our journey, we knew that developing a fully custom saddle would take a lot of time. So, we started looking for something that would make rides more comfortable for cyclists even while we were still working on our very first saddle, the Joyseat 1.0. That’s how the idea for our own chamois cream was born.

We knew that high-quality skincare could significantly improve comfort in the saddle, so we began searching for the right partner. After a few failed attempts, we came across a Czech company, 1. Aromaterapeutická KH a.s. and that’s when our amazing collaboration began. Together, we created a unique product: the Smiling Butt Cream.

The result? Two versions - one for women and one for men. Later, we added a healing balm for acute inflammation. Today, you can choose from three sizes: a 15 ml travel pack, a 100 ml home jar, and a 500 ml tub for the whole family or heavy use.

We had good experiences with natural cosmetics and thought, “What if we created our own chamois cream formula and used it in a dispenser?” Several companies rejected the idea, but the owner of 1. Aromaterapeutická KH a.s. invited us for a meeting, and we quickly found common ground. They developed several formulas based on our needs, which we tested with our cyclist friends and the result was the Smiling Butt Cream. A year later, we developed the Magic Butt Balm together.

We’ve visited their production site several times and were amazed by the care and love they put into working with herbs and essential oils. Just like our saddle, this cream is something we can proudly say is made with love and care right here at home.

One day, we were approached by Jiří and Martin from Posedla with an intriguing project. I was immediately drawn to their dedication to creating a fully custom saddle for cyclists. And I love taking on new challenges and collaborating with unconventional minds, it’s a refreshing break from the daily routine.

I was especially intrigued by their intention to develop a cream for cyclists’ sensitive areas. We agreed on the composition and consistency, and I created different essential oil blends tailored for both men and women. Then came the testing phase, where each of us had our personal favorites.

Naturally, the products had to align with our principles - made from plant-based ingredients, free from unnecessary chemicals, preserved with essential oils, supportive of the skin's microbiome, and environmentally friendly.

I’m glad it was our company that helped develop these products for bike-obsessed riders, and I believe we’ll find even more opportunities to collaborate. Do I need to wear SPF even when it’s cloudy or if I sweat a lot?

Yes! UVA rays penetrate clouds and even glass. And even if you’re “just riding in the city,” your skin is still exposed to the sun. Sweat or rain won’t completely wash off SPF, but it should be reapplied every 2 hours.

What’s the difference between UVA and UVB?

• UVA – Aging: Penetrates deep into the skin, causes wrinkles, pigmentation, and sun allergies.

• UVB – Burning: Causes sunburns, tanning, and in extreme cases, skin cancer.

What SPF factor should I use?

SPF 30 blocks about 97% of UVB rays, SPF 50 about 98%. The difference is small, but if you're cycling or have sensitive skin, higher protection, especially for your face, is worth it. The golden rule: something is better than nothing. And reapply regularly!

What should I look for when choosing SPF products?
